We get it! Learning Hungarian is hard work, especially for an adult! But, if you want to get more out of your genealogy research, more out of your travels to Hungary, communicate better with your relatives in Hungary, or be able to understand some of those old letters, written in Hungarian, that are in your house our aim is to help you! Even though it isn’t easy to learn Hungarian, our instructors and your classmates will help make it more enjoyable. Believe me, learning on your own isn’t super satisfying, fun, or productive! I find that being in a community with others who share the same goal is helpful and encouraging!
If you want to get serious about your Hungarian language learning and grow in your language skills, join us! We offer a variety of classes that each have their own strengths. You don’t have to be a member of a Hungarian Language Class to participate in our Hungarian Dialogue Sessions or our Hungarian Language Clinic. Each of these opportunities are independent of the other, but they are related because they are all about Hungarian language! Here is the run down of our Hungarian language learning opportunities:
Hungarian Language Lessons –There is no substitute for having a live instructor to guide you through the nuances of Hungarian and gently encourage your language acquisition! Our instructors are knowledgeable, enjoyable, and skilled at providing a variety of ways to help you connect with the language. We have daytime and evening classes with only 5-8 students available at beginner through advanced levels. If you are just learning about this now be sure to send me an email about your interest at [email protected] and we will be sure to let you know what is available!
Classes meet one hour each week and are approximately 12 weeks long. There is weekly homework and it is expected you will spend an hour or so on the homework each week. If the next class session is 12 weeks long, the cost will be $270 (updated price). There is also a textbook and workbook you need to purchase, available at The Hungarian Store.

Hungarian Language Clinic is a weekly opportunity to have your vocabulary and grammar questions answered by an instructor. The clinic meets for one hour each week. Participants bring or email their questions and the instructor answers it in class and explains it so everyone hears the question and the explanation. It’s a great way to learn more about Hungarian with a fun group of people. You do not need to be a member of our Hungarian Language Lessons to participate! When you are a student in our Hungarian Language Lessons, you qualify for the student rate in the Hungarian Language Clinic!
